At Warbirds Over Wanaka you are so close to the continuous action you feel like you are in the pilot's seat. Good Friday is Airshow practice day and open to the public. Saturday and Sunday are the Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow days. All Aviation Trade Expo stalls will be open on the three days, as will the ground displays including vintage stationary machinery, military vehicles and Central Otago wine and foods. Monday is Public Rides day. For the full 2016 Airshow programme, visit the Warbirds over Wanaka website. |
More than 80 aircraft will attend Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow 2016 including old favourites the Spitfire, Kittyhawk, Corsair and Catalina. You will see some of the famous Warbirds that helped defend freedom during the world conflicts - heroes of World War II, fighters of the South West Pacific and awesome jets. Our growing sport aircraft contingent will also display both in the air and on the ground. |
Jet Racing will once again thrill you with a rematch NZ vs USA - the Americans are determined to win the trophy and this time will be bringing some of their own aircraft. See this amazing spectacle, only at Warbirds Over Wanaka. Aircraft from two or more Airforces from around the region are expected at WOW and we are hoping the RNZAFs aerobatic team will be performing their first full public display in the new Beechcraft trainers. Our fun-loving pyrotechnics team re-create scenes with aircraft from the wars, while military vehicles and personnel re-enact wartime skirmishes metres from the crowd. See the website for further airshow information. Ticketing details under - 2016 Airshow /FAQ see Ticketing. |
