Great Day Touring the Vineyards of Martinborough
This was a wonderful wine tour. It began with a scenic train ride from Wellington to Featherston and then a short bus ride to Martinborough. After a brief stop for coffee and for our delightful tour guide to give us an overview of what to expect on the tour we began at Murdoch James Estate's Blue Rock Vineyard and visited one more small winery before an antipasto lunch in the village center. After lunch we visited 2 more wineries and then relaxed over tea back in the village center before being dropped off in Featherston to catch the return train to Wellington. Our guide was outstanding. Very knowledgeable, personable, and easy going. She provided the right amount of commentary before each visit and enroute to each vineyard. I would certainly recommend this tour to others, it is very good value for the money.
