Following is feedback posted by visitors to this property:Great stay, twice within 10 days. Spotlessly clean and roomy. Helpful staff who accommodated our requirements. We would highly recommend a stay at mercure picton.

I was disappointed with the quality of the hotel - the bathroom looked as if it needed a serious upgrade. Lugging our suitcases up and down stairs was a bit of a struggle and i can't recall the website stating that the restaurant would not be open in the winter as the main reason i had chosen the hotel was to eat at their restaurant and not venture outside after a long trip. We will probably will try somewhere else next time we come to picton. .

Nice and clean accomodation but draging the lugage up and down the stairs was not pleasant.

You get what you pay for. There was no electric blanket, no heated towel rail in the bathroom and i'm sure there weren't many (if any) sky channels. Plus we had an earthquake that night but i don't hold the hotel responsible for that!! didn't like their policy of charging a fee for credit card payments although they did make us very aware of their policy. Probably wouldn't stay there again for that reason alone. The bar staff was friendly but must get exhausted running up and down the stairs. And speaking of stairs - we had to drag our luggage up several flights of stairs. There was a lift but to get to it, you guessed it, we had to go down a flight of stairs. Adequate for the price but that's about it.

Perfectly fine other than the room being very cold on arrival (most likely an oversight), an electric blanket wold also be a good idea. Friendly staff, good food, handy location to the ferry terminal, etc. Snow and karen central otago.
