Fifteen minutes drive south of Rotorua, Astelia Lodge is a brand new custom designed Lockwood house with two guest suites looking out onto the dramatic and ever changing Horohoro bluffs. Now open for bookings, we are offering our guests comfortable, tastefully furnished suites, good food and the promise of warm hospitality.
As you step onto the lawn you can take a stroll along the river bank to feed the trout. In the evening sip a glass of chilled wine on the deck, or take a bottle of bubbly to the lower lawn and watch the sun go down over the Bluffs as the river ambles by. On the upper lawn you can try your hand at archery. In less than perfect weather the lodge offers a warm and cosy retreat with pine interiors and under floor heating.
The suites have Super King sized beds and are comfortably furnished and decorated with local and international art works. Tea and coffee are available in the rooms, together with complementary wine and seasonal fruit. A delicious choice of breakfast is served in the dining area or on the deck in the morning sunshine.
Rooms have Sky TV and wireless Internet.
We have mountain bikes for guest use in the extensive Redwood trails only ten minutes away. Archery equipment and clay shooting are also available with instruction.

Following is feedback posted by visitors to this property:Have stayed in this accommodation twice. Fantastic, comfortable room, with very comfortable, luxurious bed. The shower was wonderful. Lots of nice luxury touches, making a special stay. We had a delicious meal with the hosts who were excellent hosts. About 15 mins to town with a lovely rural outlook to the Horohoro Bluffs. Thank you so much!
