You will love this welcoming home with all the modern conveniences but with an old farmhouse feel to it. Built to take advantage of the sun and magnificent views, this eco-friendly house is wonderfully cool in summer but toasty warm in winter. Don't forget to ask us about our unique, unforgettable alpaca beach walk.
You have your own entrance, a sitting room with TV and Wi-Fi, kitchen, bedroom with Queen bed, separate bathroom and toilet. The accommodation is suitable for a couple.
If you are looking for a quiet place to relax then you have found it. Open the curtains in the morning and look out over the pond to the alpacas grazing in the paddock. These are wonderful animals and your hosts Mark & Pav Stacey would be only too pleased to give you the opportunity to hand feed the alpacas or take one for a walk.
The wonderful Bream Bay beaches are only 10 minutes away with horse riding even closer and the magnificent Bay of Islands is just 2 hours drive away. There are numerous local sights that should not be missed including the Waipu caves with their incredible glow worms. The Waipu museum boasts of being the best small museum in New Zealand and tells a fascinating story of the arrival of the Scottish people to Waipu. If you are here over New Year then you must go to the Highland Games attended by Scottish people from all over New Zealand with highland dancing and games that you and the family can try.
There are plenty of local places to eat including the Pizza Barn in Waipu which serves excellent food at affordable prices, the excellent Madly Indian in Waipu and Two Fishes at Waipu Cove. Alternatively, you can have a relaxing dinner with Mark and Pav that will have Kiwi, European and Sri Lankan flavours reflecting their family backgrounds. A continental breakfast can also be provided. Dinner and breakfast need to be pre-booked.

Feedback
Following is feedback posted by visitors to this property:We had a wonderful stay. The room was really comfortable, and both hosts made us feel very much at home. The breakfasts were great and really set us up for the day. We had two of Pav's dinners which we really enjoyed. Do try the "slow cooked beef" - fantastic. The alpacas are really cute, although "the boys" could probably be a bit rough if they chose! Mark seems to be into many of the things that interest me - fast cars, steam vehicles, CNC machines, etc., and we had some very interesting discussions. We have no hesitation in recommending you stay here. If we return to New Zealand, this will definitely be on our itinerary.
