Offering a private spa pool exclusively for guest use, free WiFi, the Brown Cow is a stylish self contained apartment located 5 minutes' drive from Levin and the State Highway. Guests can hand-feed the property's pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits and a friendly brown cow.
This apartment is 80 minutes' drive from Wellington. It is 100 km north of Wellington city. An ideal stop over, we are located 5-mins off State Highway 1, 5-mins from Levin and at just over 1 hour & 20-mins from Wellington it makes an ideal stop over on the way to the Cook St Ferry.
The apartment can accommodate 2 people in comfort, with a king size bed available in the master bedroom. A single bed is available in the lounge if required.
The bedroom has a king size bed with the bedroom sliding doors opening onto a private veranda with a swing-seat that looks directly out over farm paddocks. All our animals are friendly and can be hand-fed from the fence at the back of the apartment.
Fully self-contained with secure off-road parking your apartment includes laundry facilities, self-cater kitchen facilities, lounge area with HD TV, a private outdoor garden court-yard with table and chairs (nice spot to have breakfast) and a separate outside veranda looking out over the farm paddocks (this area gets the afternoon sun). The bathroom offers a shower and a hairdryer.

Only minutes from your accommodation you can enjoy farm-fresh produce from the local vegetable/fruit stalls.
If time allows, enjoy the beauty of a walk or ride a bike around the nearby vineyard. Alternatively a walk along Waikawa Beach is recommended, a hidden gem only really frequented by the locals. It is a 10-min drive to reach the beach.
We are a family-friendly facility with outdoor playground and additional fold-out single/bed & bedding and another mattress & bedding available on request for children.
Rates are room-only for 2 persons (bring your own breakfast supplies and dine in the garden courtyard)

What a find this was! like others, we hope to be back. Although the flat was fully kitted out - including a full stove and oven - we cheated by having a take-away from levin one night and a trip to the glorious stefans-that-was at nearby manakau the second night. The flat was fabulous, had everything one could possible need - and more, like the cows, sheep, hens, etc outside the kitchen and a lovely private sitting area at the front door. The owners were delightful and very helpful. We had not a word of complaint. ... And the price ... What a steal! many thanks again cath and steve.

We had an excellent stay at brown cow. Luxury accommodation at budget prices. This b&b is in a separate private appartment. It is warm and clean with a large king size bed and great quality bedding etc. Hosts were lovely and garden beautiful. We will definitely return. Thanks cath and steve. .
