A welcoming little beachfront camp nestled amongst well-planted grounds at the mouth of the Maraetotara River.
The attractive grounds and facilities are sheltered and offer direct access to the beach and river's edge. If you're in your element at the beach, this is the spot for you with safe swimming in the lagoon and river, surf casting or surfing to be had. Most of the 60 level sites have power, with sealed roads and paving all the way to the beach. The kitchen has a variety of cooking appliances, fridge/freezer and an adjoining covered dining/BBQ area. There are 3 ablution blocks, each with attractively tiled shower rooms and vanity benches. The laundry has excellent automatic equipment. Extras include BBQ facilities and a large grassy recreational area for the kids to play cricket or run about. With one of the top three surf spots in New Zealand just offshore, surfies will find a warm welcome.
