Sorry to say that the Sofitel did not meet our expectations. We stayed at better places in NZ for less money. Overall, could do better.

Pleasant and comfortable but not 5 star and there's better value elsewhere
Pleasant hotel, friendly staff, somewhat anonymous in style and atmosphere. Expensive for what it was, although location is excellent.

Great hotel and facilities. Only downside was concierge who watched while we lugged our bags into the hotel before emerging from his room just as we reached reception. He did the same when we left.

Room was not ready when I got there. When room was ready, key was not ready....finally got key very late in the evening. Room itself was very nice.
