Wow what a fabulous weekend away experience for my birthday. A beautiful room, fabulously friendly and professional staff and great eating! i wish we could have stayed for longer!.

My husband and i stayed at the sofitel auckland viaduct harbour in may 2014 to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary and go to an awards dinner. It was fantastic from start to finish. The front desk were attentive. Our room was wonderful room was perfect with lots of extra space and lovely setting area, desk and entrance/bar area. The young lady who serviced our room was exceptional with her through tidying and cleaning of our room. The young boy that turned down our beds at night was efficient. They both checked to make sure if we need anything else. The restaurant for breakfast and morning tea was superb with service and delicious food, friendliness and nothing was to much to ask. The front door men were on their toes and were very helpful. One even took the time to take a photo of us as we were going out for an awards dinner. Not only have we boasted about the hotel, but we both would love to stay again next year same time of year - awesome experience we could not fault.

The hotel certainly lived up to our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - even when we had a slight hiccup regarding the prepayment. The added touch of the room lights, music and turned down bed with the chocolates were lovely, and much appreciated when we returned from our night out. The room and bathroom facilities were tops, and everything was very clean, and of a high standard. The concierge and valet parking facility was great. It's a pity we couldn't have stayed for longer. Booked an early rate luxury marina view room at $344 for 1 night on 30 nov for 2 people. A 3rd person is allowed at no extra charge - however rollaway bed is $85. Staff will provide extra blanket upon request. Was slightly disappointed with the size of the room, however the beautiful bathroom and use of the indoor pool/spa/gym (open 6am-10pm) made up for it. Very tiny balcony and staff were a bit slow at fulfilling our requests. Hotel only has valet parking available at $35/night. Room was serviced at about 7:30pm which was good since we were just heading out for dinner. Ordered 3 buckets of ice during our stay, fridge was too small to fit your own drinks in. Bed was so comfy, had the best sleep. Located in quiet marina area. Blackout curtains were good. Espresso machine is a mission to operate but follow the instructions and you'll be fine! overall enjoyed my stay but felt that it was a little bit overpriced for what you got so probably would try somewhere else to get more value for $.
