Experience Kiwi heartland hospitality on the Nature Coast - a place to stop, relax and take your time. Chris & Barbara invite you to unwind at Serendipity Bed & Breakfast and share their home in a quiet corner of town. It is a pleasant 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the theatres and restaurants.

The Nature Coast is centrally located to explore the lower North Island. One and a half hours to Wellington, 40 minutes to Palmerston North, 3 hours to the Hawkes Bay or Taranaki.

Discover the pleasures of the region - take your time to enjoy the fine foods produced by the 'market garden' of New Zealand, the talented local artisans and craftspeople. Historic Otaki, the Foxton windmill and museums, the Manawatu Estuary and Lake Papaitonga for birdlife are all within a 1/2 hour drive. With prior notice we can also arrange permission and passage to Kapiti Island, a renowned bird sanctuary.

Visit our superb, unspoiled beaches, enjoy the fantastic sunsets. Picnic near pleasant rivers, tramp into the Tararua ranges, go white water rafting or take a 4X4 motorcycle excursion.

A world-class vintage car museum and several golf courses are all an easy distance away.

Chris & Barbara have 4 children - 3 are living in New Zealand and one is currently in London. Three grandchildren are near Auckland and the fourth in London.
Chris, born in Zimbabwe, came to New Zealand in 1961. He was an officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy until 1978, then a businessman and farmer until semi-retiring in 2000, when he started to design and develop websites.

Barbara, a 5th generation New Zealander, was raised in Rotorua and Wellington. Barbara is one of the management team for the Horowhenua Library Trust.

Our interests are fine food & wine, travelling, music, photography, reading, gardening and genealogy.
