We are scheduled to open for the 2018 season on 30th June
See Aoraki Mt Cook towering above the Southern Alps while the turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo shimmer below. Situated in the heart of the Mackenzie Country Roundhill Ski Area has some of the most spectacular views in NZ.
Roundhill is renowned for all day sun, great snow, easy access, outstanding terrain and friendly hospitality.
With a diverse terrain mix Roundhill has something for everyone, including a huge beginner's area serviced by 2 rope tows and a platter lift, plenty of wide undulating intermediate terrain accessed by the 2 T-Bars, and for the adventurous there are the natural half pipes, chutes and steep terrain off the Heritage Express. To round off the mix there is Central Park for the freestylers with plenty of features including boxes, rails, rollers and jumps for most ability levels.
This Kiwi owned ski field boasts Australasia's highest vertical rise - a huge 783m, the highest lifted point is the top of the Heritage Express rope tow ? 2133m.
With an extensive snowmaking system covering a large area Roundhill provides great snow cover without any help from Mother Nature! The professional snow grooming team ensures pristine conditions throughout the season.
The international ski school team are led by Wolfgang Burtscher ? ?Wolfi' has been with Roundhill for 11 years and has been teaching skiing for over 30 years! Our team is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable ? they provide expert tuition for beginner through to advanced skiers and snowboarders.
With over 350 sets of ski and snowboard equipment for all ages the friendly staff will ensure you have the correct equipment for your needs. To help you with your progression, we ensure that all our equipment is well maintained and tuned regularly. All of our rental skis are ?carving? skis and our snowboards all have strap in bindings. We also hire nutcrackers and harnesses for the Heritage Rope Tow and helmets and toboggans are available.
