Our home is an ideal base for those who are visiting the region, be it for events at the Westpac Stadium or exploring the city. We are an easy 7 minute flat walk to Waterloo train station and then a 20 minute train ride to Wellington. The train delivers you directly onto the Stadium concourse or the station is a starting point to explore all that the city has to offer the visitor on foot along the waterfront or by bus from the adjacent bus terminal.

For those passing through Wellington on the Picton ferries we're only 15 minutes from the Wellington terminals, closer than many Wellington city suburbs! Early breakfast is served before you leave

If you are visiting the Hutt Valley, from Waterloo station you can either catch a bus or walk another 10 mintues to Lower Hutt City Centre, Westfield Queensgate shopping centre, Town and Horticultural Halls.

Queensgate is the hub for Hutt Valley buses, some routes run to Wellington as an alternate to the train, and the Airport Flyer bus direct to the airport. There is also a bus stop at the corner or our street (2 minutes) that goes every hour (weekdays only) to Lower Hutt City Centre and then on to Hutt Hospital. Or use our bikes to explore some of the river trails.

Lower Hutt has many students coming in for block courses and you will find our home very central to Weltec, the Glass and Glazing Institute, the Open Polytechnic and the Learning Connexion. We offer a dinner, bed and breakfast reduced rate for block courses that is very competitive when compared to other home stay rates. Do enquire for the our block course rates. Use our bikes so you can ride to tech - saving a longish walk, or $7-$10 bus fare each day!

Our home has two bathrooms: - separate bathroom with toilet, and the main bathroom with vanity, shower and bath. Robes are provided for your use. Both guest rooms have their own TV with recordable SKY TV decoders and comfy chair. Or join us in the lounge and watch TV, make a cup of tea or coffee in the kitchen or just relax after a busy day's activities. Free WiFi.

Our home is centrally heated so even when Wellington is not at her best the house is warm and toasty. When we're all out there is a monitored alarm to provide security for your possessions.

Continental breakfast (cereal selection, fruit, yoghut, toast & spreads, teas or cofffee) is included in the room rate. We can cater for gluten and dairy free breakfasts as well - please advise when booking. Evening meals by arrangement with your hosts.

For those travelling with infants (under 2) we have a portacot available and can arrange to hire buggy, back pack, high chairs and car seats for you if you want them. We are experienced grandparents and could babysit while you go out for an evenings recreation if you would like us to.
