59 Gibbons Road Kaiwaka

Price range: $105.00 - $115.00

Less than an hour and a half north of Auckland, within easy reach of both East and West Coasts, yet only 15 mins from Mangawhai with its beaches and surf, Riverside Cottage has many advantages as a holiday location.
The eminently affordable, self contained, eastward facing cottage with its sunny aspect is fully equipped including linen and is set in 2 hectares, overlooking and bordered by the river on one side and native bush on another, and with easy access to both.
The accommodation consists of a large bed/sitting room with a queen sized double bed and lounge area with table and easy chairs, television and ranch slider doors leading onto the deck; a kitchen/dining room with sink, microwave, fridge, hotplates and breakfast bar; a second bedroom with bunk beds and a separate toilet and a shower room.
Well behaved dogs are welcome and there is ample room, along the river, in the paddocks, where our 5 Wiltshire Horn sheep live, and in the bush for them to be walked, to run and be exercised. Many different birds, apart from our own free-range chickens and ducks, can be seen on the property including fantails, blue herons, parakeets, kingfishers, geese, pukekoes and a variety of wild ducks. We also breed Monarch butterflies in the garden
We are more than happy for guests to be involved in feeding etc, if they so wish, but the animal's presence does mean that at some times of day, or seasons of the year, and in some areas of the property the levels of activity and noise have to be carefully managed.

Great place to stay in beautiful surroundings. Robin and felicity were amazing hosts who made us feel really at home. Very clean and tidy with a great shower! loved the homemade muffins and watermelon and bananas just added to the little touchs. Higjly recommended, hope to return one day.

We could not asked for a more restful setting or more attentive hosts than robin and felicity. Thank you so much for accommodating our comings and goings over the weekend stay for a family occasion. Like many others, we appreciated the little touches as much as the quiet, the garden and the well appointed unit. I would thoroughly recommend your cottage to others.

A lovely relaxing place to stay
We both thoroughly enjoyed our last few days in New Zealand. Riverside Cottage was a lovely find. It was very clean and well equipped. Felicity and Robin were very welcoming and the added touches of muffins, fresh eggs and other treats were very nice indeed. They have a lovely garden and setting. The Italian bakery in the village was a nice find too.

Fantastic location and helpful, friendly hosts
Robin and Felicity added lots of nice little touches - treats for our dog and a bowl of water, fruit in a bowl, muffins, soap, water in the fridge. It was nice to be treated as special guests.

Tidy, clean cottage as part of a larger garage complex in rural & bush grove surroundings. Robin & felicity are friendly hosts who made us very welcome & helped us pick a huge bag of feijoas from their tree the morning we left. They had also provided much appreciated little extras in the cottage on arrival such as a small plate of choc cookies, a whole litre of milk & bottled water. The spot is handy to west and east coast spots eg - a 15 minute drive into mangawhai. Would highly recommend .
