March Hare Cycles offers a variety of options from casual cycle hire to our 'Picnic & Pedal' package!

The 'Picnic & Pedal' package includes hire of top quality bikes and helmets, and a delicious picnic consisting of quality local produce for you to enjoy whilst cycling in and around the wine village.

We have a range of cycles and tandems which can usually be hired for a 1/2 day (subject to availability) or a full day, and even multi-day (upon request). The cycles come in different sizes and styles and are most suitable for the country lanes, both sealed and unsealed around the area. There are also options for children including baby seats and trailers.

Some things you may want to know:
* If you have a gift voucher, please ring me directly to make your booking - we don;t want you to get charged twice for it
* As you can see from the pictures we supply a delicious big picnic but if you have any special dietary requirements such as food allergies please just make sure you put a note in the 'bookings' box.
* Weather - Martinborough is known for being hot & gorgeous with one of the lowest rainfalls in NZ. However if you're unlucky enough to strike one of those rare miserable days don't worry, we're nice people and won't charge you. See T&C's on booking page for details

Satisfied customer
My friends and I greatly enjoyed our cycling trip to the wineries in Martinborough. The service from Gretchen was good (she was always quick to get back to me, to answer my questions and provided useful information on the day about specific wineries to try), the food was lovely, the bikes were sturdy and comfortable. Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and myself and my friends are already talking about going again!

A fantastic way to get around Martinborough
My girlfriend and I hired a couple of bikes from March Hare on Good Friday. Gretchen (from March Hare) emailed us to let us know that the Vineyards were not doing tasting sessions due to the Easter weekend but we decided to go ahead with the hire anyway - and I'm glad we did. The bikes were in good condition, and were comfortable to ride - they also had a basket on the front to carry the packed lunch we were given. The packed lunch was excellent; a loaf of bread with some cheeses and meats to sit out and eat in the hot weather the Easter weekend had brought. There was also a couple of pots of chutney and olives which were delicious (we were also given a chopping board and some knives which came in very handy). Jan met us at the iSite in Martinborough and gave us the lunch and bikes, and because it was the Easter weekend recommended us a route around Martinborough (including a stop off at Olivo olive grove so we could have lunch). Overall an excellent cycling experience!
