Welcome to Lazy Dolphin Lodge - Situated at Curio Bay, The Catlins, Southern Scenic Route, Southland, New Zealand - featuring our own private beach access and panoramic views of the beach / bay, wildlife and sea.
We offer split level budget accommodation with double rooms with a queen bed, twin rooms with two single beds and shared rooms available. No bunks.
Lazy Dolphin Lodge is ideal for retreat, family gatherings, school camps and group bookings etc, as sleeps 15. As we have 2 floors available, top floor sleeps 7, bottom floor sleeps 8.
We provide fully made up beds . We offer shared bathroom facilities, and fully equipped kitchen facilities - one each floor. Lounges are available for time out if required.
We offer free wi-fi. Laundry facilities are available for a small fee.
The closest food shop & petrol station is in Tokanui 30km away.
The petrol station there is only open Mon - Friday until 6pm.
There is a camping ground shop in walking distance from the lodge & it has some supplies.

Clean Lodging, Friendly Staff!
This lodge was clean with friendly and helpful staff. Nice views from the large kitchen+living room. There is very little nearby (no markets, or restaurants) so make sure to bring groceries!

Clean, friendly and great views
Adequate Kitchen and Bathroom areas, clean room and a very nice view. Owner was also very forthcoming, would visit again. Negative was missing towels etc in the bathroom and a wonky wi-fi connection (probably a power issue though, not fault of the owner).

Great place
We spent two nights and the Backpackers and enjoyed it very much - especially as all guests were out during the day and we had the place to ourselves. The Hector dolphins playing in the waves at the beach were awesome to watch - I wished I had a wetsuit with me to go swimming with them. Would definitely stay there again.
