Jack in the Green Backpackers offers quality budget accommodation in the alpine village of Hanmer Springs. Our location is just out of the town centre in a quiet residential area and guarantees a good night's sleep.
We have just seven, very spacious rooms in our backpackers, three of which have their private ensuite bathrooms. All our rooms have comfortable, made up beds (no bunks!), spare blankets and heaters.
Enjoy our spacious lounge with comfy log burner, fully equiped kitchen and sunny garden.

From our arrival we were treated magnificently, the room was superb, even though upstairs and all facilities first class, we'd certainly stay there again if visiting Punakaiki

4 strangers crammed into one room in an empty lodge with super sqeeky beds and fireplace situated right outside the door sounded like people were talking all night right next to you.. No sleep. They could have made a good amount of money if they thought about the long term. I moved lodgings for the 3 month duration after the first night and im glad i did.
