Highway House is located 1.3 kilometres north of the town centre. Superbly comfortable, and personal attention, in a characterful residence with modern interior facilities, providing a light and a full cooked breakfast for travellers.
The house is in fact in the "Arts and Crafts" style, built in 1935. It is set in ample, landscaped grounds, and there is off-street parking if this is required. There is also a "tree-house" for children, while the entire residence is securely fenced. There is also a private walled garden which guests do use as they wish. Al fresco dining is possible in that garden.
The two double king-bed rooms have all amenities (including SKY and Wi-Fi). The Mahogany Room has a fine ensuite whilst the Gold Room can also be taken with a dedicated bathroom if required. Alternatively - and at lower cost - the Gold Room can share a bathroom with the bijou Sun-Room, which latter has two king single beds.
There is a delightful drawing room with large flat-screen TV if this is preferred. Complimentary afternoon tea is served in this room if travellers desire this upon arrival. Refreshments are also always available adjacent to the bedrooms.
Breakfast is Kiwi Light, being equivalent to "Continental" and also a full-cooked breakfast according to the traveller's wishes. Fresh, wholesome and - as far as possible - organic foods are used. Special and gluten-free preparations are also possible.
Varieties of tea and coffee can be prepared by your hosts, including machine-made coffee.
Your hosts, Stephanie and Norman, are well-travelled and enjoy assisting with travel plans in North Otago or further afield in New Zealand. Be assured of the best service they can provide.

We had a great time in this B&B. The master is very hospital and nice. Give us a lot of detailed informations and great recommendations. Also the house and the garden are really beautiful. And the breakfast is very delicious and we love the homemade fruit salad very much. We hope we can have more time there.
