Just over the Rimutaka hill is the gateway to the Wairarapa. On your right you will find the new Featherston Motels and Campground.
They have four fully serviced motel units with en-suites, including one disabled unit. Each unit sleeps up to three guests.
Backpacker accommodation is also available in a comfortable, modern free standing dwelling, sleeping up to 9 guests in four bedrooms with full kitchen facilities. The backpackers unit can also be booked as a whole.
The shared ablution block and laundry is just a short stroll from the backpackers.
Also available, powered motor home sites and caravan sites.Kitchen on site for campers.

Featherston Motels has a courtesy vehicle available for guests. This vehicle can transport up to 8 passengers including the driver and can be met at the Featherston Train Station.

Very clean and comfortable. Help close at hand when needed. A negative was that the road sign coming from the north was very hard to see. Several of us went past the entrance and had to come back.

Best service ever!
I stayed in the serviced unit at Featherston Motel & Campground for two nights in early January 2017. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation, especially if you're attending a wedding at Tarureka Estate, which is a 10 minute walk away. Colin was a superb and friendly host and went over and above expectations in terms of his level of service, including letting me check-out late, and dropping me and my suitcase off where my friends were staying down the road.
