Good place to stay. Shower over bath and bathroom a little tired. Otherwise great. Staff very helpful, food good. Would stay again. .

Booked through travel book - superior twin room for x3 adults . Me and my two boys. When we got there to my dismay there were only x2 single beds in the room. I inoformed the desk clerk who stated that i had booked a superior twin room and basically "make do" i informed her that i had booked the room but there was nothing remotely superior about it - i had paid for the third adult and i suggest that she get moving before i lose my temper - the cleaning lady was the only person who seemed to want to help. Eventually the third bed appeared but the room was so so small you couldn't move in it. The hairdryer didn't work and neither did the socket in the bathroom - i am waiting for the copthorne to get in touch as i complained but i have heard nothing so far - it was disgusting - glad it was only for one night as i would have had to go else where.

Notified leaving wellington airport that they were overbooked and we were being moved to the copthorne hotel on the quay. Flew back to auckland late that night and got to substitute hotel to find it was a disaster. Very grotty motel-type room where everything was worn out and looked dirty. Upgraded to hotel's 'best room' for 2nd night after complaining next morning but still very ordinary room and facilities. Great quay view and staff were nice but wouldn't recommend copthorne quay hotel based on this experience - or the auckland city one either. Not the 'memorable' birthday we had in mind.

Adequate hotel but the service in the restaurant was poor and the staff unfriendly.
