We arrived at about 8pm and were warmly greeted by our hostess the room already had the heater on and electric blankets as it was a cold taranaki night the facilities were great peacefull and quiet the breakfast was contibental and contained some very nice preserves i rate this as great value and if i need to be in the area again will re use this facility i believe the negative comment given does not truely reflect what service we received i stay at many hotels throughout nz with my work and this was very good value and different in a good way.

A lovely place to stay. Wonderful hostess (and Meg the dog too), lovely cottage with excellent shower. Would recommend it.

Unfortunately, not the quaint cottage we were expecting. It was cold (even with the fin heater), the bathroom was tiny and did not have a hot point, with poor water pressure. The bed was so soft that our backs were sore the following morning. We stayed on a Friday night and the pub across the road was playing karioke until after 3:00am the following morning. We checked out after one night, not wanting to spend another there. The owner was very nice, however we are still awaiting the refund she promised us for the second night. All in all, very disappointing. Perhaps it will be better after renovations and in Summer.
