3 Deavoll Place Heathcote Valley Christchurch

Price range: $- - $-

Welcome to Heathcote Gem in Christchurch, a Bed & Breakfast in a modern private house only 12 minutes away from Central Christchurch City by car. The accommodation is on the direct bus route of bus 28. Heathcote Gem is set in a semi-rural, tranquil setting in Heathcote Valley - a microclimate eco-valley beneath the rugged Porthills near the Heathcote-Avon River estuary.

We offer a comfortable double room with private bathroom, 5 minutes drive from Christchurch Gondola and 10 minutes across the tunnel to Lyttelton - the entry port for Christchurch City. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and designed to enhance your vacation experience. You could wake up to the warm morning sun streaming into the valley or gaze into the mysterious misty fog hovering round the hill top. Hear the soft sounds of the wind or the birds chirping away. Enjoy our spacious lounges and dining area with open views to the lush greenery around you.

Take a walk around the valley and around the river estuary to appreciate the beauty of this valley. This is a historical valley that showcases a number of historical sites, including a quaint church and World War II ornaments. The historical village pub offering superb meals is only a short stroll away. The occasional rumblings of trains carrying coals to Lyttelton add to the vacation feel. If you feel like having a game of golf, the 9-hole Ferrymead Golf Club is only minutes away.

If you are adventurous you could hike in the many walk ways up the Dyers Pass. Discover the Ferrymead Heritage Park only 10 minutes walk away. A slow stroll up the valley will take you to the Gondola, where you ascend the steep slope of the Porthills to the top, and be impressed by the breath-taking view over-looking Lyttelton harbour and its turquoise waters on a sunny day. The idyllic seaside resort village of Sumner is only 10 minutes drive away. There is plenty to do in and around Heathcote Valley!

The co-hosts are mostly on-site and offer personalized assistance and service. At the same time, you could come and go as freely as you wish. You will feel that you are out in the country and not realise that you are only 12 minutes from the city centre!

Following is feedback posted by visitors to this property:

This accommodation is a hidden gem among the partial ruins of christchurch. Walking distance to cashel mall in the cbd and easy road access for those with cars. The hosts are great, the room is comfortable, and the breakfast spread is wonderful. I'd definitely stay with them again.
