Brenton Lodge is a boutique lodge situated on the hills overlooking Whangamata with wide views of the sea to Tuhua Island.

The Lodge was established in 1993, and has proven to be a wonderful place for the independent traveler, looking to explore the beautiful beaches and forest tracks of the Coromandel Peninsula.

The Lodge is well placed being just an hour from Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove, minutes from the Wentworth Valley Falls walk, and stunning Opoutere beach, and under 2 hours from Auckland.

The Lodge offers a full breakfast menu, with up to eight hot options, together with fruit, cereal's homemade yoghurt and preserves.

A table d'hote dinner menu is offered every night except Wednesday from the beginning of October through until the end of April. The daily menu focuses on using the best of regional, seasonal produce, stunning fish and seafood, spring lamb and aged beef. Where possible, all dietary requirements can be catered with a little bit of notice.

Brenton Lodge has a 9metre in ground pool, to enjoy in the summer, there is a guest lounge with 42 inch LCD TV and a variety of CD's and DVD's. Down by the pool, there is a bar for guest use, well placed to soak up the sunshine, and enjoy some of New Zealand's beautiful wines.

Brenton Lodge also has a chocolate kitchen on site, classes are offered to guests, who wish to participate, usually taking place in the morning, and all guests get to indulge in handmade truffles or chocolates. Prior notice is required for classes.

Whangamata offers a number of cafes, all just 2.5km from the Lodge, also a beautiful white sand beach, stretching some 4.5kms from the harbour to the estuary.

Kayaking, fishing, swimming or surfing, golfing, guided nature tours, cycle hire, arts trail are all available for guests. The Coromandel Peninsula is famous for its beaches, native bush, kauri forests, historic gold trails and glow-worms.
