Here at Ariki Backpackers we offer you comfortable & inviting accommodation at budget rates! We are an easy 2 minute walk from the bus station and the only centrally located 3 Star Plus Qualmark Assured Backpackers within New Plymouth.
Puke Ariki Information Centre, Museum and Library are all within an easy 2-3 minute walk. Other sort after attractions within walking distance include the Coastal Walkway, Fitzroy Surf, Pukekura Park, Bowl Of Brooklands, Brooklands Zoo, Seal Colony excursions, T.S.B Stadium, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes as well as many specialty shops including the City Centre Complex. After a day out, relax on our balcony with awesome views of the Tasman sea and Len Lye Wind Wand.
We offer a range of Dorm Rooms including girls only dorm,boys dorm and mixed dorm. All have full linen(duvet and towel included)Four dorm rooms have full ensuite. Our Doubles and Twin/Single rooms include TV and full linen(including duvet and towel). Our comfortable lounge has a 50" Freeview T.V. with D.V.D's available for guests. We have a fully equipped communal kitchen. CyberCom with Skype is available.
Mountain shuttle and Tours arranged upon request.
We not only offer accommodation for our international & national backpackers, but also sports teams, social groups, and tour groups of all ages. Long stays welcome upon request.

Being a first time new plymouth visitor, ariki backpackers was the best location and totally reseasonable and affordable accomodation. Staff totally friendly and wonderful. Added plus factor was meeting other visitors from around the world. I'm a nzlander and my nephew and i thoroughly enjoyed our visit. He enjoyed the close proximity of the local bars and i enjoyed the relaxing environment. Big thanks to the staff of ariki backpackers, definitely will visit again. .
