The Queen Charlotte Track is on Picton's doorstep, one of the South Island's best walking tracks. Daily water taxis depart to various points along the track. Only 20 minutes drive away are over 60 premier vineyards and boutique wineries. Wine tasting tours of the vineyards are very popular. Many have restaurants ranging from café style to fine dining. Also worth a visit is the Omaka aerodrome, with the world's largest collection of 1st World War planes. |
