Often you'll hear the Hector Dolphins before you see them, hear the penguins calling to each other or see and hear the sea-bird life.

A-Class Sailing - Akaroa Harbour Eco-Wildlife & Harbour Cruises. A real Sailing Experience.
We believe we provide an 'A-Class' Adventure Tourism Experience, however the reason we're called 'A-Class' Sailing is because Manutara is one of the very last genuine registered 'A-Class' Keelers built. Designed in 1946, by Jock Muir from Tasmania, to win the gruelling Sydney-Hobart yacht Race, the design won the race four times: in 1947, 1948, 1949 and line honours in 1951! This beautiful ship was built here in New Zealand by legendary master craftsmen from a single giant Kauri tree.

You'll love cruising using the power of the wind to drive the boat. With no motor running, there's no engine noise or diesel exhaust smell or pollution to harm the unique and endangered wildlife.

Learn about Akaroa's historic secrets and legends from our experienced, local Kiwi crew. Ray your experienced Skipper has done over 2000 cruises since 2001 and sailed over 4500 miles on Manutara. You'll be invited to take a turn steering the yacht yourself, tacking or gybing or you can simply relax in the 'Royal Seats' and watch the action happening before you.

We guarantee you'll see wonderful sights, experience a memorable cruise and receive true value for money.
