Bed and breakfast accommodation (also known as B&B) can vary from larger bed & breakfast inns to one or two rooms within a private house, usually known as homestays. Country homestays and farmstays are also available on a variety of farms and rural properties throughout New Zealand.

The Eastland region includes Gisborne & Wainui Beach, East Cape, Ruatoria, Lake Waikaremoana and Te Urewera National Park.

Rugby World Cup 2011 – Eastland plays an important role in the RWC tournament. The team from Namibia will be based in Gisborne during pool matches in September and training at Rugby Park.
